Peter Jordan
Pete has spent most of his working life as a Chartered Accountant, but his association with the passenger road transport industry started in 1968 with a summer student job as a bus conductor for Maidstone Corporation. The following summer, he passed the PSV driving test, and spent the summer driving coaches for Sheffield United Tours. Since then, he has always had a part time job for one (and usually more) of the local bus companies. His other transport passion is narrow gauge railways, and he discovered the comfort of Routemasters fifteen years ago driving one of Stagecoach Bromley’s RMs on a Ffestiniog Railway Gala ‘rail replacement service’ between Porthmadog and Caernarfon. Since then, he has always admired the Routemaster, and the opportunity to buy one arose in late 2008. Since then, a lot of time has been spent in mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment. In addition to running his bus, he also runs tours to India and runs events for railway enthusiasts.
